Nancy Bell has been a home gardener enthusiast for 30 years. Strongly encouraged to try out gardening by her sister and her father, she reluctantly stared down bugs, plant diseases, hands stained with dirt, and jeering bad weather elements before she began seeing the fruits of her labor: beautiful flowers and abundant vegetable harvests. From this point on she was hooked. Nancy loves designing and adapting her gardens with an appeal to a cottage garden style. And she never stops learning from and listening to other gardeners’ experiences. Her love of gardening spills into volunteering at her church and growing gardens for families experiencing food insecurity in the community. Every growing season is a welcome adventure, and she embraces gardening as a big and wonderful science and art experiment.
She became a Master Gardener in 2002 (with a few years off due to family obligations) and is proud and feels privileged to continue working with other volunteers along with new and experienced home gardeners in our local communities.
