Read on for Nina's description of her presentation...

“An all-white garden, or moon garden, comes to life at dusk. Mysterious and ethereal, the moon garden begins to glow as the intense reds, oranges, blues, and purples of other flowers fade into the night. Discover how to take your garden up a notch by including key features--fragrant plants, fire, water, and lighting--that can create exquisite settings.”

More about Nina Koziol:

Nina is a horticulturist and garden writer who tends plants on a deer-infested acre about 40 miles from Chicago. She has written garden articles for the Chicago Tribune, Chicagoland Gardening, Old-House Journal, Organic Gardening and The American Gardener. She writes for the Illinois Landscape Contractors Association’s The Landscape Contractor, Planter Place, and for The Chicago Botanic Garden's web site.

Nina has been teaching horticulture, garden design and residential landscape design history at the Chicago Botanic Garden and The Morton Arboretum since 1997.

Nina explains: Why gardening? She was born in Paris, France, to a father who was a life-long, decorated military photographer. Her father met her mother in England during WWII. Her grandparents had an incredible garden in Chelmsford, Essex, England, with a lovely greenhouse her grandfather built. She credits her love of all things gardening--plants, birds, insects and clouds--to her mum who encouraged her at age seven to do a science project on the parts of an Impatiens flower. After that, she was hooked.
